Harris Ranch has a railroad train that departs every 10 days from Nebraska carrying 100 rail cars of the finest Midwest corn to the Harris Ranch feed lot in the San Joaquin Valley of California. At the feed lot, they control the diet of Midwestern corn and locally grown feeds, all tested for pesticide residues and never containing animal proteins. Animal health is closely monitored, and any animal requiring treatment is identified and removed from the program. Their food safety and sanitation practices are state-of-the-art and include not only their plant, but also transport vehicles, cattle washing and cold chain management. Georgia Natural Grass Fed Beef by White Oak Pastures is raised using herdsmanship passed down thru five generations of the Harris Family. They have raised cattle on the same Early County, Georgia farm since 1866. The cattle are treated humanely. The farm is environmentally sustainable, with a zero waste processing facility, uses solar panels to heat the water and is certified organic by the Georgia Crop Improvement Association. The cattle are born, raised and harvested to meet USDA Approved Grassfed Protocol which forbids the use of artificial hormones, confinement feeding or the use of animal by-products or antibiotics in the feed. Will Harris and his family are also raising and processing chickens, water fowl, and lamb.
